Summary of this week:

This week in Maths we have continued to learn about subtraction, focusing on the column method and exchanging between the ones and tens column.

In English, have finished our unit on the Bad-Tempered Ladybird and published our independent writing.

In History, we had a brilliant time doing our local walk of Bookham!

In Science, we have completed our unit on diet and nutrition and also been learning about food waste. .

In Reading, we have finished reading our text, Sulwe, and the children have been writing letters to the books main characters to share their thoughts on the story.

In PE, we have continued our units on Football and Dance with Coach Jay and Mrs Line.

In D&T, we have made our fruit tarts and discussed different aspects of kitchen safety.   

Our learning after half term:

In Maths, we will be completing our addition and subtraction unit.

In English, we will be starting a new unit on portal stories.

In Science, we will be learning more about food waste.

In RE, we will be finishing our unit on Christianity.  

In Reading, we will be starting a unit on descriptive poetry.

In Geography, we will be starting our first unit on Antarctica.

In Art, our first unit will be focusing on shape.

Homework

Maths homework is handed out every Tuesday. The hand in date is the Friday of each week  

A spelling overview is sent out at the beginning of half term to support the children with learning spellings at home.
