Summary of this week:

We will continue to look at subtraction stories.

Phonics

We will review all the phonics sounds learned so far this term.

We will continue with Independent Learning and will be looking at foundation lessons consisting of, RE, Music, PSHE, History, Art and PE.

Notices & Reminders:

Monday 6th January is an INSET day.

Tuesday 7th January – First day of the Spring term.

Victorian homework reminder: (optional)

After Christmas, the children will be learning about the Victorians as part of their History unit. They will be invited to come to school dressed as Victorian children in the new year (date TBC). Please start thinking about your child’s costume in preparation for our Victorian school immersion day. We will send out communications in the new year to confirm the date. If you have trouble finding a Victorian outfit for your child, please speak to your class teacher. Note that outfits can be old, ripped shirts, trousers, or dresses. Please do not feel pressured to buy a costume.

Please ensure all children bring a named coat to school. Children can bring a pair of wellies and leave them in their cloakroom to use, if needed. Please ensure your child comes to school with a water bottle (water only, not squash) and a healthy snack (school fruit is available).

Reading record books- Please try and fill in the reading record so we can see how much your child is reading (just the book name and an adult initial). When your child has read these books a minimum of 3 times, they can change their books in class. Please can reading records be brought into school every day.

The weekly spelling books will be sent home on a Monday and need to be returned to school on the following Monday, for new spellings to be added.

Thank you for support.
