Reception
Weekly Update - Friday 28th November 2025
Summary of this week:
The children have excitedly been beginning to think about Christmas through the discussion of our upcoming Nativity performance. They have learnt about the Nativity story and have chosen which part they would like to play in the performance. Thank you for all of your support getting their costumes ready. If you have any difficulty, please let us know as we have a few spares that we would be happy to lend out. The children have been hard at work singing and learning all the Nativity songs and makaton signs.
We have also been comparing quantities this week. Focusing on counting carefully and comparing objects in different groups. The children had a go at editing and writing their own ‘Stuck in the mud’ stories and we have been so impressed at how their phonics and segmenting skills are developing.
Our learning next week:

Notices & Reminders:
Toileting Issues - The HCRG Care Group ( providers of community health care, including school nurses) have advised us of a new Toileting Support pathway for parents of children who are struggling with daytime and nighttime wetting and issues with constipation/soiling/withholding etc. The Toileting Support Webinar is a Surrey wide live webinar that is run by the School Nursing team with an opportunity for questions and answers at the end - the next live webinar is on 6th January at 10:30am.
Please do ensure that the children have their reading records and books in every day in case it’s their group’s turn to read.
Can we make a plea to only send water into school for the children to drink? It is causing confusion for the children when some children bring in squash. Thank you.
A HUGE thank you for all of the donated sand so far. The children have been excitedly preparing the area and can’t wait to use it!
Please bring in children’s costumes in a named bag. Any problems please see your child’s class teacher. Thank you
