Reception
Weekly Update - Friday 12th December 2025
Summary of this week:
What a fantastic week! We have been so proud of our Reception children. They all performed beautifully in their Nativity performances. We hope you all enjoyed watching them as much as we did. We have been busily writing Christmas lists and exploring number patterns with the number blocks. The children have loved joining in making Christmas salt dough and we are looking forward to more festive fun next week.
Our learning next week:
PSED (Personal, Social, Emotional Development) Joining in with group games.
Art: Salt dough decorating
Vocabulary: Ordinality, Cardinality. Makaton signs: Father Christmas, Christmas songs.

Homework:
This week we will be sending home the next group of graphemes that we have learnt. Please look over these at home. Our next phonics assessment will be coming round quickly in the new year and by looking at these for a few minutes each day will really help them to retain all the great progress that they have made.
Notices & Reminders:
Toileting Issues - The HCRG Care Group ( providers of community health care, including school nurses) have advised us of a new Toileting Support pathway for parents of children who are struggling with daytime and nighttime wetting and issues with constipation/soiling/withholding etc. The Toileting Support Webinar is a Surrey wide live webinar that is run by the School Nursing team with an opportunity for questions and answers at the end - the next live webinar is on 6th January at 10:30am.
On Thursday we will be having our Christmas lunch. Please feel free to bring in a festive hat to wear.
On Friday we will be having a little Christmas party. We will be making Snowman biscuits to eat at the party but if we could have a few savoury snacks instead of our normal snacks at the end of the week to give out as party food that would be very helpful. Thank you.
