Reception
Weekly Update - Friday 7th November 2025
Summary of this week:
Welcome back to the second half of the autumn term and we hope you all had a restful break. It has been wonderful to see the children’s enthusiastic return and how easily and comfortably they have settled back into their classroom routines. This week we have enjoyed sharing our Halloween and bonfire night experiences and creating artwork using those themes. Mrs L collected a load of pumpkins from Bockett’s Farm which the children have really enjoyed carrying, rolling and transporting around our outdoor classroom.
Our learning next week:
PSED PSED (Personal, Social, Emotional Development): Understanding that being different makes us all special
RE: Saying thank you
Art: Exploring clay and its properties
Makaton signs: celebrate, Diwali
|
Homework:
Talk about the different occasions that you celebrate in your family and the ways that you celebrate. Are they the same or different to the celebrations the children have learned about in school?
Notices & Reminders:
Please remember to bring a coat with you every day. Even on Forest School days if the children have an all in one, they will still need a coat for playtime. It’s getting colder and wetter and we are outside whatever the weather!
We are increasing our reading practice sessions from next week and would like the children to have their reading records and books in every day in case it’s their group’s turn to read. Please make sure that they are in the children’s bags. The green Eastwick book bags are ideal for carrying books as well as the work they bring home.
